Impact claims can require more than cosmetic repair, particularly when the force of the impact affects the structure of the home. A clear repair strategy, engineering input and strong project management are essential to deliver the right outcome safely and efficiently.
Morgan Projects was engaged after a significant vehicle impact caused major structural damage to a residential property on the Sunshine Coast.
A vulnerable customer had been sitting in the dining room only minutes before a car impacted the home, driving through the external brickwork into the room.
The impact caused extensive damage, pushing an entire elevation of brickwork backwards by approximately 150mm. The repair required careful structural assessment, engineering design and a managed reinstatement process to ensure the home was repaired safely and to a high standard.
Morgan Projects coordinated the engineering design, developed the repair scope and managed the tender process.
The works were then delivered under close project management, with the repair strategy followed through without variations. Despite the complexity of the structural repair, the project was completed within approximately four months from start to finish.
The completed repair achieved an excellent result in both finish and quality.
Morgan Projects received positive feedback from the insured and the insurer, including a 10 out of 10 rating from the insurer’s assessor in the final report.
The claim demonstrated the value of clear engineering direction, careful contractor management and strong communication on a complex structural impact repair.
